StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void DMP

  • Studio: Blizzard Entertainment
  • Work Done: Digital Matte Painting
Created digital matte paintings for the StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void cinematics in the story mode.
I also did final texture painting on high res marketing stills. Legacy of the Void is the last of the epic trilogy. Purchase it here!

Digital Matte Painting of a vertical pan down shot "Dawn of New Aiur" after Artanis reclaimed Aiur on the ground, the three planets from the original StarCraft cinematic in the sky. FG created by the Environments Team.

Time lapse 3D digital matte painting for the reconstruction of the Aiur home world and city. Huge thanks to the Environments Team for helping out, namely Toni Bratincevec for the 3DSMax and Vray expertise as well as
Fabio Baretta Zungrone who helped with the scene. Also thanks to James Crowson for animating the Star Ports and flying ships, Ben Dai for directing, and Shimon Cohen for CG Supervision. Created using 3DSMax, Vray, Vue,
and Nuke.  Night time FX streaks created by the wonderful Danielle Romero.  A big team effort on this one crazy 3 day/2 night time lapse! View the video after the images.

*SPOILER ALERT!*

Artanis builds a new Aiur here, in memory of his beloved friend Zeratul. After removing the Zerg threat and getting his people to sever their nerve cords from the corrupted Khala, it was time for Artanis and the Protoss race to settle
down to this home world once again. The time lapse goes through 3 days and 2 nights of Protoss warp in fun! Who else can build a city so fast? And why build so many Forges and Cybernetics cores you say?! Can't be too safe against
future invasions!! And don't forget to fast base expand with a second Nexus when you can ^_^b

*END SPOILER ALERT!*
